I Wished Not

I wished not to be a chiseled stone
Placed as an idol in your temple alone,
Worshiped and loved in solitude,
Savior to pray to for fortitude,
I wished not to be put on this pedestal high,
I trembled in fear for the future nigh,

A new savior shall come by soon,
Space shall be needed in this temple soon,
Weaknesses, cracks in me,
New light shall reveal to you,
No good for charms,
Disapproved, not of use to you,
No good as a God,
New Savior shall prove to you,
His Hammer shall do the work for you,
Broken to pieces I shall be dust to you,
I wished not to be a chiseled stone,
Placed as an idol in your temple alone.

I wished to be some other stone to you,
A stone to ward off the evil eye,
A stone to embellish a bangle by,
A stone for feet to pedicure by,
A stone to scare enemies by,
A stone to remember journeys by,
A stone of love and memories deep,
Not a stone for prayers and silent weeps,
I wished not to be a chiseled stone,
Placed as an idol in your temple alone.
